We are proud to have Jenny Balson as a Handmade in Britain member. Her jewellery designs remain interesting and eye-catching while maintaining a sophisticated look.
Jenny discovers light and shadow, interiors and exteriors and is drawn to forms that offer shelter, whether these be in nature or man made.
“I’m also attracted to surface patterns referring to those created either in nature or by design,” Jenny shares.
The stripes and grooves on rocks, the weaving of branches and remembered scenes or designs on fabric all inspire her work. She uses gold plates to define the marks and hidden spaces, sometimes applied so as to introduce a softly painted effect.
